Arnold in His Shop

When in Friendship, I got to know and appreciate Arnold, a lobsterman who has been fishing his wharf for 60 years. He was warm and welcoming to me, allowing me to use his workshop and take lots of photos. I wanted to do a painting of him and this is the result – part portrait, part still life, part interior. I love it. This is a studio painting which started from a plein air trip.
