"The Hooker" is the lobster man who attaches the hook to the lobster cages at the end of the season. They are hoisted out of the boat for the winter, when they will be refurbished and checked over. Arnold is from Friendship, Maine and has spent his life lobstering off this wharf. This is a studio painting.
