Yukon Mountains in Autumn

I love to paint outdoors. I will set up my easel in new locations and observe new scenes. I create a painting full of life by responding to light, form and colour. My landscape paintings are strong, balanced and full of life.
I set up my easel on a sunny morning in September and observed the everchanging shadows and light on Mount Lorne. I made a quick outline, building forms with bold, colourful shapes. The dark upright spruce trees contrasted against the blue and purple mountain peaks and the early fall foliage.
