The red-winged blackbird is a striking bird that I have painted many times.
In this painting because of its size, I was able to paint more detail on the
bird and it’s favorite habitat. This particular perspective provided a better
view of the submerged reeds which I enjoyed painting in contrast to
those poking out of the water. I used the silicone shaper for a large part of the background
to capture a less defined underwater debris. Mr. RWB chooses a lower perch to survey
his territory.
