When Legends are Born

I hiked to this location in Topanga State Park, set up off the trail, and over the course of four days, I took my time to capture this view in detail on an illustration board using graphite pencils. For the decorative border design, I used my drawings of local scrub oaks that I sketched around that same time. This border added an extra dimension to my rendering of the vista by infusing this artwork with a supporting narrative to tell a more vivid story about the place it portrays.
