Stillpoint

For the last five years I have spent at least one week cross country skiing and painting in Washington's Methow Valley. I was on my favorite trail when I came to this meadow and new immediately that I wanted to capture the light filtering through the clouds. It was a sublime moment. I finished my ski and returned to the easel to capture the essence of the scene trying as best as I could to keep my brush strokes fresh.
