My painting "Living Waters" was inspired by a model session in the orchid garden of the Naples Botanical Garden near my home. I met this lovely young Palestinian-American woman in my studio and asked her to model for me in traditional dress. In choosing this particularly pose, I was reminded of the biblical story of Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well, where He tells her "no one who drinks the water that I shall give will ever be thirsty again." (John 4:14)
