Even During the Rain There is Light to Be Had

A mid-summer rain in Colorado, during the evening. When it rains in Colorado late afternoon into the evening, the sun manages to shine just below the rain clouds. It castes a light onto other clouds creating this contrast between light and dark. That's what's happening in this painting. I've managed to capture just the right moment, before the sun sets. The illuminated clouds in the background, reminds us the sun still shines even though the rain clouds are present.
